फायनल गाठण्यासाठी भारताची समीकरणं
ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्धच्या उर्वरित चार कसोटी सामन्यांत भारताला मजबूत कामगिरी करावी लागेल. फायनलसाठी निश्चित पात्र होण्यासाठी त्यांना मालिका 5-0, 4-0, 4-1 किंवा 3-0 अशा निकालांनी जिंकावी लागेल.
जर मालिका 3-0 ने संपली, तर भारताचा PCT 62.28% होईल, जो फक्त दक्षिण आफ्रिकेला मागे टाकण्याची शक्यता राहील.
पराभव झाला तर काय?
जर भारत 3-2 ने मालिका गमावला, तर त्यांचा PCT 53.51% असेल. अशा परिस्थितीत फायनलसाठी पात्र होण्यासाठी इतर संघांच्या सामन्यांचे निकाल भारताच्या बाजूने लागणे आवश्यक आहे.
भारताच्या बाजूने लागणारे निकाल:
- न्यूझीलंड-इंग्लंड मालिका 1-1 ने बरोबरीत संपली पाहिजे.
- दक्षिण आफ्रिका-श्रीलंका आणि दक्षिण आफ्रिका-पाकिस्तान या दोन्ही मालिका 1-1 बरोबरीत संपल्या पाहिजेत.
- श्रीलंका-ऑस्ट्रेलिया मालिका 0-0 बरोबरीत राहिली पाहिजे.
जर हे सर्व झाले, तर भारत फायनलसाठी पात्र होऊ शकतो. पण श्रीलंकेचा PCT 53.84% झाला, तर त्यांच्यावरही भारत अवलंबून राहील.
