पावसामुळे दोन दिवसांच्या सराव सामन्यावर परिणाम झाला असला तरी दुसऱ्या दिवशीचा खेळ मात्र चांगलाच रंगला. सामना 46 षटकांपुरता मर्यादित करण्यात आला, आणि भारताने त्यांच्या ताकदीचा ठसा उमटवत पंतप्रधान XI संघाला सहज पराभूत केले.
फलंदाजांचा सराव आणि गिलची चमकदार खेळी
भारताने डावाची सुरुवात यशस्वी जैस्वाल आणि केएल राहुल या जोडीने केली. रोहित शर्मा संघात परत आला असला तरी भारताने हे ओपनिंग जोडं कायम ठेवलं. जैस्वाल आणि राहुलने संयमी खेळ करत चांगला सराव केला.

दुर्दैवाने कर्णधार रोहित शर्मा मोठी खेळी करू शकला नाही. केवळ तीन धावांवर तो बाद झाला. मात्र, त्यानंतर नितीश रेड्डी आणि वॉशिंग्टन सुंदर यांनी वेगवान फटकेबाजी करत संघाला 257 धावांपर्यंत पोहोचवलं.
गोलंदाजीत भारतीय दबदबा
सामना सुरू होताच भारतीय गोलंदाजांनी आक्रमक सुरुवात केली. हरषित राणाने अचूक टप्प्यावर गोलंदाजी करत चार विकेट्स घेतल्या, ज्यामुळे पंतप्रधान XI संघाचे 138/7 अशी अवस्था झाली. मात्र, सलामीवीर सॅम कॉन्स्टसने संयमी खेळ करत आपल्या संघाला सावरलं. त्याने शतक झळकावत संघाला काहीसा आधार दिला. खालच्या फळीत हॅनो जेकब्सने 61 धावांची झंझावाती खेळी करत संघाला 240 धावांपर्यंत पोहोचवलं.
भारतीय गोलंदाजांमध्ये हरषित राणा, मोहम्मद सिराज, प्रसिद्ध कृष्णा आणि आकाश दीप यांनी सहा-सहा षटके टाकत चांगला सराव केला. त्याचबरोबर वॉशिंग्टन सुंदर आणि रवींद्र जडेजा यांनीही फलंदाजांना थोडं त्रास दिला, पण त्यांना काही महागड्या धावाही झेलाव्या लागल्या.
भारतीय संघाने या सामन्यात फलंदाजीत आणि गोलंदाजीत दोन्हीकडे सरस कामगिरी करत पंतप्रधान XI संघाला सहज हरवलं. खेळपट्टी आणि परिस्थितीचा फायदा घेतल्यामुळे संघाला आगामी सामन्यांसाठी चांगली तयारी करता आली.
